West Rutland Girls’ Basketball Win State Championship

It is not very often that we see two of our very own schools competing for a state championship title. This past Saturday, that’s exactly what happened in the girls’ Varsity basketball championship with West Rutland taking on Proctor. It was a nail-biting game, as almost any rival game can be expected to be. Both teams were playing their hearts out on both defense and offense. However, it came down to the very last second, when West Rutland’s Anna Cyr hit the game winning 3 point shot, giving West Rutland the 57-56 victory over Proctor.

Congratulations to both teams for an amazing season! Read the full Rutland Herald article here: Rutland Herald.
