Tomatosphere Challenge at RTS

In Week 1 of Tomatosphere, students at Rutland Town School collaborated to make predictions about their space and earth tomato seeds. After, they tried the astronaut exercises to see if they were fit for space travel.

In Week 2 of Tomatosphere, students practiced making observations about healthy and unhealthy tomato plants then planted the Tomatosphere seeds. They learned that a blind test means that they don’t know which seeds were on the ISS for 6 weeks and which stayed on Earth! We are excited to see them germinate next week!

What a great activity to learn about how plants grow and what types of factors play into their growth. See some highlights below and keep checking back for the progress!
