Recap of Summer Program

From Lindsey Brown:

Before we dive into the new school year, I wanted to take a moment to give a HUGE shout out to some of our staff members who were here working over the summer and helped make our summer program a big success! Together we were able to serve 71 of our k-5th grade students, right here at WRS, providing tutoring and enrichment programming! Our largest attendance to date!

Students participated in everything from book clubs, reading and math groups, to a large variety of STEM projects, art & physical education activities, community service all while developing problem solving skills and team building. Our upper elementary students focused on becoming role models and mentors for our younger students. Through themed weeks and programming, students explored life under the sea at the VIA aquarium, learned about the solar system with the help of Dinoman and the Earth Balloon, built wind powered vehicles with Montshire, let their creativity and imaginations bloom at Wonderfeet and collected can tabs to raise money for the Shriners Hospital. I am so proud of our students and so grateful for the wonderful staff! Thank you to Pam, Tabitha, Maddie, Kaylee, Jaime, Kyri, Karen, Kristina, Mary and Marie for all of your efforts! It wouldn’t have been possible without you.
An additional shout out to Jay, Joe, Lynn, Lisa, Angie, Matt and his team for being so accommodating and helpful to us around the building this summer!
