As you were notified yesterday, all GRCSU schools will be mask optional as of March 14th.
- Beginning March 14th, masks will be optional in all GRCSU schools and on school transportation (buses, vans, etc.).
- Please note that March 11th is the last day that all individuals are required to wear masks while in school buildings. Mask optional does not begin until March 14. Any individual who refuses to wear a mask will be sent home for the day.
- K95 masks will be made available to any student or staff member who would like to continue to mask while in school.
- We will continue to provide home antigen testing kits to all staff, students, and families as needed.
- There will be an update to the isolation and quarantine guidance. When we receive this from the Vermont Department of Health, we will share this information.
Secondly, as some of you may know by now, during today’s press briefing Governor Scott and Secretary French made that announcement that the state will shift to an endemic approach in mitigation measures in our schools. This includes not requiring all students and staff members to wear masks indoors.
From the onset, the GRCSU has closely aligned its school-based mitigation measures with the guidance and recommendations of the AOE and Vermont Department of Health. As a result, all GRCSU schools will be mask optional as of March 14. We are expecting additional implementation recommendations from the AOE in the next day or two. We will share any additional information as we receive it. Thank you and have a good evening.
