Dear GRCSU Instructional Staff,
Welcome back! Please visit the coaches website for information on our August 30th – 31st in-service and an agenda for the first day. Monday is a GRCSU-wide in-service day. Tuesday is a building-directed day. Please check in with your building based administrator for more details. You should plan to work out of your school building throughout both days. The hours are 8:00am – 3:30pm. Thanks to our Team Innovation coaches–Corey, Jenny, Alena, and Sandy–for working so hard to plan the day’s learning. Attached to this email you will find the schedule which outlines the structure for the day and provides links to relevant information, which you will need to log in and access relevant information and session directions.
Your options for training include:
Live Sessions: There are several live, virtual sessions for you to choose from on Monday. See the coaches website for the schedule and more information. Please note there are some mandatory sessions required for specific groups of staff and we have a GRCSU-wide session for all instructional staff virtually from 9:00am – 12:00pm. See your principal for specific locations to report within your building for that session. Most sessions will also be recorded.
Self-Directed Modules: You can find all of the professional learning modules, including many new modules on additional topics, on the Professional Learning Page of the coaches website. There were around 140 modules at last count! Please bookmark this page if you have not yet done so. This page has been updated to be more user friendly and the module categories have been changed as well. Some modules have been moved to an archive folder.
Special Educators/Service Providers/Paraprofessionals
Please make note of the links for special options for you within the August in-service webpage and refer to the guidance from Christine and Kimberly regarding your time on these two days.
What if my position does not fit into a category listed above (nurses, counselors, etc.)? Do you go into classrooms and teach lessons for guidance or for health? If so, check out the days’ plans for teachers. There are many resources there that can transfer over multiple content areas. Also check out the Special Educator pathway. If you still feel that your position does not fit into the categories above, then we encourage you to reach out to your job-alike colleagues. With your colleagues, develop a plan for the day that will address your most pressing needs. We still encourage you to look through the modules and live session offerings in all three categories above to see if anything will be beneficial for you and your team.
We are excited to see everyone back in our buildings after the summer and look forward to working together this year on our recovery from the pandemic and our efforts to meet student needs and build pathways to success for every child.
